About the role
The role is a significant national leadership opportunity to shape and strengthen the school’s research performance, research culture, and higher degree by research (HDR) training across all campuses.
It is an exciting opportunity to influence the national research trajectory of the school and position Nursing & Midwifery as a leader in impactful, translational, and community-engaged research.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a national research strategy aligned with school, faculty and university priorities
- Grow research income, performance, and impact
- Strengthen research culture, mentoring, and capability development
- Lead and enhance HDR recruitment, supervision quality, completions, and candidate experience
- Build national and international research collaborations and partnerships
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and research integrity frameworks
Qualifications, skills & experience
In addition to the requirements of the Academic Classification Level (typically of a Level E) that underpin this role, you will be an established research leader with:
- Distinguished record of research leadership in nursing or midwifery, with high-quality publications, competitive grant success, HDR completions, and demonstrable impact on clinical practice and policy.
- Experience in implementing a national research strategy aligned with school, faculty and university priorities
- Grow research income, performance, and impact
- Strengthen research culture, mentoring, and capability development
- Lead and enhance HDR recruitment, supervision quality, completions, and candidate experience
- Build national and international research collaborations and partnerships
- Ensure strong governance, compliance, and research integrity frameworks
